We are pleased to inform you that The Afton Central School will be implementing a meal certification option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs for the 2022-23 school year.
What does this mean for your child(ren) attending the school(s) identified above?
All students enrolled at Afton Central School are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2022-2023 school year. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a free and reduced application. A CEP application is included in our calendar and we encourage each family to fill it out and return it all soon as possible for other funding options available to our school. We feel this valuable program will be beneficial to all of the children in our district and the community as a whole.
Children will be able to purchase extra items (ala carte), extra milks or snacks. You may choose to pay online for these items using Myschoolbucks. The link is below.

Afton Central School is proudly taking part in New York Thursdays! NY Thursday meals are comprised of seasonal New York State foods that are grown, harvested and/or produced in NYS! Check out our monthly menu to see the menu for each month!

The school website has a School Food Service section that has lots of great information, including what produce is reasonably priced by the month, and has links to nutritional websites that contain lots of information, interactive games, recipes and more.
Help us help your child be the best that they can be! Breakfast starts your child's day of learning, start it right with school breakfast! Eating breakfast has been proven to have many positive effects on our body. Students who eat breakfast tend to have a lower chance to be obese, make less trips to the nurse, have better attendance rates and test scores. We will continue to have the same breakfast menu for our Middle/High school students as we do for our Elementary students . All of our breakfast items will be whole grain and we will encourage the consumption of more whole fruit.
