Afton Central School is proud to announce that Rylee Noone, daughter of Erin and Ronal Noone, has been named the Valedictorian of the Class of 2024. Rylee has maintained a seven-semester grade point average of 98.264.

Throughout Rylee’s time at Afton, she has always been very focused and a diligent student. She has achieved Superintendent’s List over the last four years and is on track to receive her associate’s degree in math and science through Tompkins Cortland Community College. Rylee is very appreciative for having had the opportunity to be part of the Early Degree program.

Along with Rylee’s academic achievements, she has also been involved in extracurricular activities. She is a member of National Honor Society, SADD, student government, a LINKS committee member, and the class Vice President. Outside of school, Rylee is a very talented competitive dancer. She has been dancing since she was 7 years old and traveled to many different states taking classes from professionals and competing. She has earned many scholarships and prestigious awards.

Rylee would like to thank her parents, grandparents, siblings, extended family, and friends for their unwavering support and guidance. She would also like to thank her mentors, teachers, and classmates.

Rylee plans to attend a four-year college or university to study public relations and minor in either marketing or sports management. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she would also like to pursue her master’s degree. Afton Central School is extremely proud of Rylee and all her accomplishments.

Meeya Cummings (Class of 2024 Salutatorian)

Salutatorian, Meeya Cummings

Afton Central School is proud to announce that Meeya Cummings, daughter of Jennifer and Scott Cummings, has been named the Salutatorian of the Class of 2024 with a seven-semester grade point average of 94.25%.

Meeya has achieved High Honor Roll throughout high school and is currently working towards receiving her associate degree this year through Tompkins Cortland Community College. Meeya has spent her four years in high school working endlessly to reach her academic goals. She would like to thank her parents, family, and friends for their unwavering support.

Meeya has been a member of Girl Scouts for over 10 years and is working towards achieving the Girl Scout Gold Award. Meeya is also an active member of both the Afton High School Drama Club and the Susquehanna River Raiders Canoe Team, where you may have seen her performing onstage or competing in the General Clinton Canoe Regatta.

This fall, Meeya will be studying at Binghamton University where she will major in Economics.
