Afton Central School District Represented at Women's Leadership Conference

Afton Central School District is pleased to announce that two teachers and two students attended the Chenango Women’s Leadership on Tuesday, Mar. 25 at Canasawacta Country Club in Norwich. Marci Lauren Riddell, a conference committee member, explained the purpose of the event. After increasing the number of guests to 250, all tickets were sold after just one open registration. The event sold out its 150-person capacity in its first go-around last year. She said, "the all-day event allows women in the area to become familiar with women’s resources in Chenango County and take part in networking opportunities. “We’re doing a wealth panel, a leadership panel and a health panel. She also said, "For women to be able to walk away having really learned something from each of those panels I think is going to be important." Riddell also said, "This once-a-year conference empowers women in rural counties, requiring minimal travel to maximize the experience." The highlight of the day was a speech from keynote speaker Barb Schindler, the Chief Operations Officer at Golden Artist Colors.
