
Students and staff have been hard at work, preparing and practicing for the Variety Show on Wednesday, December 4th, in the auditorium. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. We can’t wait to show the Afton community our students' amazing talent!



Congratulations to our first-quarter elementary reader achievers! Twenty-five percent of our elementary students met their weekly reading goals! The celebration included a visit from the new Afton Free Library Director, Ms. Linda, our Superintendent, Dr. Dougherty, and our Elementary Principal, Mr. Daniels. The achievers earned ice cream sundaes and a dance party! We hope to see everyone at our next incentive celebration.





Congratulations to the Boys modified basketball team on their first win of the season against Sidney (35-25).
Braylon Atkins led the team on the offensive side. Logan Cole and Isiah Hopkins led the team on rebounds.
Daniel Woodruff led the team on defense with many steals and blocks. Great job, Team!

BGAH Girls Varsity Cross Country ran in the NYSPHSAA Cross Country State Meet on Saturday. They placed 11th overall in Class C! In the full meet merge, they took 37th out of all girls teams. This concludes their outstanding season with three meet wins along with six more team Top-Three's throughout the season.


Hello, Afton Community! Due to a mechanical issue, the pool is closed this week. (November 18th-22nd). There will be no morning swim, water aerobics, or community swim. We apologize for the inconvenience. We hope to get it repaired as soon as possible.

Our Drama Club is proud to present our first Annual Afton Variety Show! We are hosting it in the middle/high school auditorium on Thursday, November 21st, at 6:00 p.m.


Congratulations to our modified girls basketball team! They won their game tonight against Unatego, 39-21. Madi kern scored 15 pts, Brielle Fendick scored 14 points, and Kaley Copeland scored 8 points. The girls all worked very well together tonight. The girls coming in off of the bench really stepped up and contributed to our win. Adleigh Noone and grace Roberts worked extra hard under the basket on defense tonight. Nice Job, Team!

Hello, Afton Community! Students are invited to the STEP Kickoff party today from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the Elementary Computer Lab!


We are thankful to our Veterans for their honorable service to our country!


We are excited to announce that the 7th grade STEM class will be our first group to utilize our brand-new Fabrication Lab/Innovation Station! Led by Mr. Hunter and Mrs. Kehoe, these students will work with 3D models, 3D printers, and learn the basics of circuit design, soldering, and robotics. Stay tuned for more announcements about this exciting space!

Afton students are enjoying the esports computer lab where they are competing against other schools in Rocket League!




BGAH Varsity Cross Country ran at the Section IV Championships on Thursday. The Varsity Girls won their 2nd consecutive sectional championship. Maddie Ingham in 3rd, Laeni Baldwin in 6th, Jalyn Winans in 9th, Vanessa Brazee in 10th, Laila Williams in 15th, Ruth Wilson in 19th and Marissa Mayo in 22nd combined for the team win, which now takes your BGAH Bears to the State Meet in Queensbury on Saturday. Congratulations, Team!!
Your BGAH varsity boys team placed 4th out of 11th teams in Class C, led by Owen Degan's 10th place finish overall in a field of 75 finishers. This is the first year in program history the boy's team was able to place as a complete team!


The FFA Food Pantry is held today from 3:00 -4:00 p.m.
