Kitty Charette and Abby Hoyt, sophomore class officers, attended the Chenango Women's Leadership Conference at the Canasawacta Country Club. They heard presentations and discussion panels from local business and community leaders that provided advice and strategies for developing their own leadership skills.

ACS fifth-graders are learning about volume! They made a cube and predicted how many one-centimeter cubes would fit. They had to use various strategies to calculate the actual volume! Nice job, Students!

Come and join us for a book reading on lead prevention and enjoy a stove top macaroni and cheese. Neisa Pantialia the lead coordinator from chenango county health deparment is parnering with Cornell Cooperative Extension Educator Alexis Woodcock to Educate parents of toddlers (1-3 year olds) on lead poisoning prevention. Each child will recieve a book, food demo of macaroni and cheese and enjoy a craft. Parents are welcome to ask questions and will be provided additional information. Afton Central School PO Box 5 Afton, NY 13730 For Immediate Release – March 2024 Jane I. Schenck Trust Fund Loans Available The Jane I. Schenck Trust Fund has announced that college loan applications for ACS 2024 graduating seniors and past Afton graduates are now available and may be secured from the Afton Central School Student Services Office. Completed applications with proof of college enrollment must be returned to the guidance office on or before June 7, 2024, to be eligible. Afton graduates may apply for a loan of up to $4,500 from the Jane Schenck Fund. Loan repayment begins once the student has left college. If you have questions regarding this loan process, please contact the Student Services Office at 607-639-8240.

This session the groups are: Gizmos and Minecraft, Play-Doh, Spanish, Coloring, Newspaper,  Pool, Jewelry Making, Puzzles, and Games and Outside Play. The elementary office reports that there are 82 students total in this session of Twilight Knights. Tuesday, March 12th the elementary performed at the Music In Our Schools Month Concert. The 5th grade band performance was wonderful. It was clear that the students and Mr. Bittner worked very hard to prepare for the concert. The 4th and 5th grade chorus performed two songs. Mikayla P. sang and performed the pieces in ASL. The performance was beautiful. Which is Better? By, Mason McArthur This week students debated which is better: pizza or pepperoni roll. The verdict is in and the answer is, PIZZA! Pizza got 67% of the vote. What percentage of the vote did pepperoni roll get?  With Pi Chart showing Pizza is more popular than pepperoni rolls. Next week students will vote on which is better: pool or P.E.?
