Aqua Zumba at Afton Central School Afton Central School’s Adult and Continuing Education program will again sponsor Aqua Zumba classes. Aqua Zumba is an invigorating, low-impact aquatic exercise for out of school adults, which gives new meaning to the idea of a refreshing workout. Integrating the Zumba philosophy with traditional aquatic fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a workout that is cardio-conditioning, body toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief. Only one-piece bathing suits are acceptable. Classes will be held Wednesdays, May 1, 8, 15, and 22, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The four-week fee of $20.00 is to be paid by check in advance. The instructor is Amy Schoelier, a certified Zumba instructor. Send checks made out to Afton Central School, P. O. Box 5, Afton, NY 13730 c/o June White. There will be no refunds or walk-ins. For questions, call June White, Adult and Continuing Education Director, at 639-2811.

In baseball, our Afton knights defeated the Bainbridge Bobcats 6-0 in 8 innings. The Crimson Knights now have 5 wins and 2 losses! Justin Reeves pitched a complete game and only gave up one hit. Ryan Wright hit a grand slam in top of the 8th inning. We had 11 walks and 6 hits. Defensively, the team played well. Afton proud!

The Afton knights defeated Deposit/Hancock, the defending state champions, 3-2 on Monday night! Ryan Wright recorded 15 outs for the win and Brayden Baciuska had the save. Reeves and Wright both collected two hits. Carter burns and Matthew Carmen both drove in one run. With bases loaded bottom of seventh Cooper Warren ended the game with a force at third base. Great job, Team!

Walking Program Begins April 15 - Welcome Afton Staff and Community 3:00 - 4:00 In school while the Weather is questionable and move outside to a mile course in May. Monday - Thursday There will be a check in station each day in the main Lobby at 3:00 for the duration. We'll start off with a walking route & we can reassess soon to see if we want to add some Healthy competition :) See Mr. WIlson for more information & a Waiver/release form.
