
Happy Valentine's Day, Afton Community!

Congrats to the JV girls basketball team for their 36-33 win on Wednesday in their MAC JV girls semifinal game vs Sidney! Appalonia Bushaw led the Knights with 15 points. Misty Bushaw, Rylee Rupakus, and Appalonia Bushaw each hit a 3-pointer in the win. The girls' final game of the season will be the MAC JV girls championship game.





The modified girls volleyball team is undefeated with a record of 4-0 this season! They played against Bainbridge winning three out of four sets! They also won their second game on Tuesday against Oxford where they won three out of four sets. Great job, Team!!!

Hello, Afton Community! Today's game times have changed. The JV girls basketball game will start at 4:00 p.m. The varsity boys basketball game will start at 5:30 p.m.

The JV girls play Sidney in a MAC JV Girls Basketball semifinal game tonight at 4:00 p.m. in Afton. The winner of this game will advance to the MAC JV Girls Basketball championship game. The girls currently have 16 wins and 2 losses on the season. Please support them for their hard work this season as they aim to advance to one final game. The team is asking all spectators to wear white.

Afton Central School District is proud to recognize Makenna Schultz (Junior) and Lilly Bagg (Senior) for their selection as members of the Elite 11, a prestigious roster of our best Field Hockey players from the coverage areas of the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, Ithaca Journal, and Corning Leader. Selections were determined by coaches in New York State's section IV Athletic Conference voting on players with great skill and outstanding work during the 2024 Field Hockey Season. Great job, Mackenna and Lilly!!!

Afton CSD: Reminder - There will be a FREE Community Movie Night tonight (2/7) at Afton Middle/High School in auditorium starting at 6 pm. The movie is The Wild Robot rated PG. Paid concessions will be available to support the 6th grade class. We hope to see you there!

Our Afton/Harpursville bowling team just had their senior night matchup! Congratulations to our Afton seniors, Julian Hosier, Grace Sabol, Tristan Pike, and Dominic Westbrook. The boys team won ( 3-1) and the girls team was defeated (4-0). The team bowled a high team series scoring 2446 with Brayden Barton leading way with a 583 series and Nick Farnham scoring 220. Nice job, Team!


The Afton Central School District is closed today, Thursday, February 6th. All after school activities are cancelled including the Board of Education meeting.

The JV girls defeated Greene 51-41 on Tuesday in their last game of the regular season. Appalonia Bushaw led the Knights in scoring with 11 points, and Rylee Rupakus added 10. Megan Racine had a team-high 10 rebounds, and McKenna Ross led with 4 assists. The Knights hit four three-pointers in the win: Misty Bushaw (2), Rylee Rupakus (1), and Appalonia Bushaw (1).
With this win, the girls clinched one of the top 4 spots in the MAC league and will play in the league semifinals next week. The day and time of this semifinal game is TBD, but it will be a home game. Great job, team!

Hello, Afton Community! The sixth-grade class of 2031 will be hosting a Movie Night: Wild Robot and there will be a Basket Raffle on Friday, February 7th at 6:00 p.m.! The movie night is free for the community and concessions are available for purchase. Tickets are on sale for the basket raffle. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Tickets will also be on sale at the movie and winners will be chosen during intermission of Wild Robot. Contact Jessica Wheeler with questions or ticket sales!

Hello, Afton Community! The girls JV basketball team has an important home game tonight against Greene at 5:30 p.m. If they win, they will finish 2nd in the MAC out of 11 teams and advance to the MAC league semi-finals with the opportunity to compete for a league championship! The varsity boys also play Greene tonight at home at 7:00 p.m. Both teams would really appreciate your support tonight! We hope to see you there!

Afton middle schoolers, Khloe Wayman (8th grade) and Roman Lucchese (6th grade) participated in the Regional Spelling Bee at SUNY Oneonta. Roman Lucchese placed 5th out of 28 contestants. Way to go!
