Congratulations to our JV girls basketball team for winning against Greene 34-28! This was their fourth win in a row! They have two games left this season.

JV Girls Basketball Senior Night Tonight 5:30 PM
The JV boys basketball team lost 41-36 to Sidney.  Levi Russell led the team with 12 points. The Varsity boys basketball team lost 60-40. Ryan Wright has 19 points, Equan Patterson added 10.

National School Counseling Week recognizes the vital roles school counselors play in the lives of students across the country.  Each year during the first full school week in February, schools, and teachers take time to show appreciation to the counselors who’ve made an impact on the lives of their students.  This week we’d like to take a moment to show our appreciation for all that our counselors do to make the lives of our students at ACS better by their support and care every day.  Thank you, Ms. Brownell and Mrs. Nordberg and Ms. Wurtz!

Afton Central School District had its third lockdown drill of the year today which included the canine units from New York State Police. We appreciate the cooperation with all involved law enforcement agencies as we continue to assess our safety protocols.

Februmy 2, 2024 Dear Afton Central School District Families, Safety is taken very seriously by Afton Central School District, as such we are always looking at methods of analyzing and refining our processes. One of the most effective methods of examining our current systems is to include law enforcement during building drills. This allows them to learn our processes, procedures, and have a better understanding of our district layout. As part of this, we have invited the canine units from various law enforcement groups to visit our school. In the near future, we will be having another lock down drill, and hope to include the canine unit for that drill. If you have any questions, please contact the District Office at (607)639-8200. Afton Elementary students are creating Wampums in Mrs. Sabol's class to learn about the Haudenosaunee local to Afton NY. They are an important part of Native American culture. They are learning about the Haudenosaunee in social studies too! Keep up the great work, Students!
